"You Have Choices!"
The President's Message
October 2001
by Laurie Robert |
If you have looked into the Modular Building Industry lately, or read the
previous issues of Commercial Modular Construction Magazine, then you have an
understanding of what is available to you today. Permanent and temporary
modular construction is playing a larger role than ever in meeting space needs;
and in some very diverse markets. This evolution has resulted in building
choices and options available to you; not just in design, features and
finishes, but in financial packages as well.
Today, as industry in general contends with economic uncertainty, this sort of
flexibility can be an invaluable tool in the decision making process of your
business planning.
Expansion or Discretion?
Generally speaking, the need for space goes hand in hand with growth. The
faster you have the working space you need, the sooner you see results.
Choosing modular construction methods to build that new office building, retail
outlet or school addition gives you a time saving advantage that can positively
affect your business efficiency and your bottom line.
But if economic confidence is shaken, pulling in the reins is a common tactic.
Capital projects can be put on hold, and "discretionary spending" becomes the
buzz phrase among the executive management of corporations or organizations.
If this is the case, but you need new or expanded facilities, look to a modular
building company to help you come up with both the facility and a financial
option that works best for you--a sort of discretionary expansion program!
Permanent or Temporary?
Your decision to purchase or lease a facility for permanent or temporary use
will be based on your own business and financial needs. Qualified modular
building companies can take you through the options, and show you the benefits
and impact of both--from design through to financing.
Choosing a temporary facility can help you bridge your needs until capital
funds become available or until your project is completed. Choosing a permanent
facility, suitably designed, can still offer you the ability to relocate should
the need arise. Either way, you have optimum flexibility.
